Coordinated closely with the architect to preserve the open-plan layout without intrusive columns.

Structural design and documentation for a torrens-title duplex, including waffle raft footings, party wall detailing, steel framing to the upper floor and driveway retaining structures. Documentation issued for CDC approval with nil RFIs from the certifier.

Assessment of the existing single-storey cottage and design of a new first-floor addition, including strengthening of existing footings, new steel beams and posts concealed within walls, and staged construction advice so the owners could remain living on site.

Structural design of a fully in-ground concrete pool within the zone of influence of the dwelling's footings, plus an associated cabana slab and cantilevered retaining walls stepping down the site. Included construction-stage steel inspections and certification.

Design of reinforced concrete block retaining walls up to 2.4 m high along two boundaries with driveway surcharge, including global stability checks, subsoil drainage detailing and certification for council.

Investigation of significant cracking to a 1960s full-brick dwelling. Diagnosed reactive soil movement aggravated by poor site drainage, and provided a staged rectification strategy that avoided costly underpinning. The report was accepted by the owner's insurer.
